in santa rosa where we're dealing with fog over parts of the north bay valley location. santa rosa into nevada, you may experience that, fog along the coastline, marine layer is about 3000 people, but not not really around, we have it inside just inside the bay, a little along the coastline, with part live cloudy skies reported in most cases. 46 in napa, 46 in santa rosa, chillier than where we were 24 hours ago, for most of us, 2 to 5 degrees are from yesterday. so a cool start in your neighborhood. 55 in livermore, and san jose, 54 in oakland, and widespread low 50s to mid- to upper 50s for downtown san francisco. satellite radar here, we watch the slow ride off the coastline, amendments not going to budge a -- it's not going to budge much, and will bring us the cloud, bring us the on shore breeze as far as temperatures below average for this time of year. on tap for your weekend, cooler air continuing to move in, temperatures in the 60s to mid-70s for the afternoon around our inland areas, apparently cloudy skies expected for the second half of the day, with mid-and high level c

. partly cloudy skies across the bay. dealing with fog once again over the north bay. santa rosa reporting fog this morning. visibility down to a quarter mile. cooling off to our dew point once again to parts of our north bay valley locations. we continue with this system offshore. you can see it here in the satellite radar. look at that spin. it really hasn't moved a whole lot. we don't expect it will from monday into tuesday as it does edge a little closer it will bring the possibility of a few scattered showers. today a little change in the forecast. some slightly warmer this morning. some slightly cooler with the clouds overhead in santa rosa. yesterday we had slipped back in the 40s. if you had been watching. here's our timeline into tuesday. that slight chance for some rain it looks like it will last into wednesday. this system will be moving along parallel to the coast as it progresses south and east. even a look at the forecast we will pick it upright about tuesday morning. we have scattered showers remaining off the coastline. we are a little cloudier. by tuesday night this wrap a

for the most part to start things out. the western half of san francisco. around the katabe plain in santa rosa and the east bayshorelines more clouds and much of marin, especially, the south bay waking up to sunshine and that is later in the day and as we approach the toll plaza at the bay bridge, it's overcast there. the weather headlines in the far east and by vacaville, the skies are blue and the sun is up. cooling trend, though, begins today and mostly sunny skies, later for everybody and there is that potential story fridays late tuesday and early wednesday. nevertheless, it's the first time this we're we -- year we look to get wet. and this weekend, flight week 52 -- fleet week. 63 degrees on the bay. looks like a nice day and flying. and heaped mostly sunny after starting out partly cloudy. this is the low pressure that is in northern california and that is moving closer to the shoreline and slowly. it will make the landfall late tuesday, south of the bay area and the moisture to the top of the low could produce's few showers late tuesday and on wednesday and today, we'll go mild and ou

by this weekend. speaking of the cool, it's happening right now. anywhere from 59 in santa rosa to low 60s in the bay area. this time last night, 80s in the bay area. now the natural ocean ac filtering in. 62 in danville. winds from 5 to 10 miles per hour. that's starting to push in some of this fog that we saw earlier today. let's get a look outside of our live hd sky camera. not too much in the way of fog from san bruno toward the bay bridge. however, visibility is getting reduced. in san francisco, a little bit of cloud cover pass by the lens. and there it is right now. pushing right across the golden gate bridge. so that's going to dramatically change our picture for tomorrow morning. all right. back on the weather boards, what we'll find over the next 48 to 72 hours is this system we've been tracking for the past couple of days. it's pretty slow to move. no rainfall the next two to three days. it's all about the cooling breeze returning, pushing all that hot air we had well off to he north. primarily this will push at the coastline. instead of 70s, 80s and 90s. we'll go with 50s and 6

skies and right now there are readings 100 degrees in santa rosa and los gatos, 87 here in san francisco down from 90 degrees just a few minutes ago here there is a look at the highlights. warm to hot again tomorrow, cooler the rest of the week and the water vapor shows an upper level low pulling away from us that is a ridge of high pressure dominating one more day, at least. let's take a look at the forecast starting at 5:00 in the morning there is so far on the coast are anywhere inland so will be clear all day tomorrow, and will be warm once again with highs into 70s on the coast and 80s to 90s around the bay it will feel like 100. and overnight tomorrow night, little patches of fog developing so sea breeze will begin to cool us down and we'll feel cooler conditions thursday but will be less hot wednesday. overnight tonight going to be quite mild. low temperatures into upper 50s to mid-60s so very mild period of weather and there is south bay, sunny skies, and 95 in san jose. upper 80s to mid-90s and low to mid-90s on the coast. there is 75 in the sunset district. and looks like click

skies. however, we will see clouds move in. first off, today 65 in pacifica. 74 in santa rosa. it was 68 in san francisco. currently 58 degrees. low 70's experienced all the way into palo alto. meanwhile, overnight, getting chilly. santa rosa, 45 degrees. get out that extra blanket. mid 50's in mountainview. this is very interesting. we have this area of low pressure. it's just been meandering off the coast there. notice the countercirculation of that area of low pressure. it's not going anywhere very quickly. but it moved a little bit closer to the coast and that's why it mixed up that marine layer today. but tomorrow, as it continues to inch its way towards the bay area, it's going to throw a few clouds that the forecast. we have a cooler day on top as well. this is interesting. futurecast paints the clouds developing in the overnight hours, still hanging very tight to the avenues. and ocean beach should not interview with that ceiling for the blue angels. rock and roll half marathon, 8:00 in the morning. san jose, in the upper 50's under partly to mostly cloudy skies. then we're talki

. 100 degrees in livermore. about 86 degrees in san francisco. and about 97 in santa rosa. enjoy it. we have some major changes coming our way. we'll talk more about that in a moment. first let's check the roads with elizabeth. >> we are going towards the bay bridge where if you want to beat the rush you can head out right about now because there's no metering lights and this is our pattern that we always see forming outer cash lanes starting to back up to the middle of the parking lot or beyond. this is a great reason to take fastrak. the middle lanes looking good heading into san francisco and we'll let you know as soon as they turn the metering lights on. in the meantime, very stop and go out of the altamont pass all the way towards the dublin interchange. pretty busy through livermore. we're also getting word of a new problem going against the commute eastbound 24 into caldecott tunnel. there's a stall blocking one right lane. so maybe a little slow heading out towards orinda but the marin county drive looking good through sausalito and fog-free. we can see traffic. that's a check o

are in the low 60's all over the bay area with the exception of santa rosa which comes in at cool 57 degrees right now. these are our forecast features. it will become mostly cloudy overnight but then the cloud will thin out tomorrow mix of sun clouds daytime hours over the weekend and slight chance of showers very, very slight on monday and tuesday. on we good to tonight low. we see again cal clouds movingn. rather far inland as aatter of fact. wi spread. low temperature mainly in the mid 50's although at cooler in the north bay valley low drop into the upper fritz inome spots like santa rosa expected to have a low of 49. now satellite radar composite image shows us upper level low well offshore. looking at the system a couple days now. not ready to make a move yet. our forecast animation at 11:00 o'clock tonight. into the weekend we good. mix of cloud sun and mild for the weekend but then on monday the low makes a run in our direction and monday tuesday there is a chance of some isolated light wide spread showers by the low pressure system but for tomorrow no showers in sight. f

letters into them for years. rosa started noticing something strange a couple of months ago. >> i think somebody tried to get the mail from the box. and it's a headache because we have to go like maybe every two days to the post office and get our mail. every day. >> reporter: neighbors say they came to the front panel and didn't think there was a problem. but when they stepped to the back side of the mailboxes, they knew they were in trouble. we discovered three different community mailboxes that had been vandalized. that means at least 36 residents have to make that trip to the post office to get their mail. this man says he needs this resolved quickly. he hasn't received his pg&e bill and worries about late fees. we spoke with the property manager who says she doesn't know who's responsible to replace the mailboxes. the owners, the renters, or the post office. the post office did not return our calls today. now rosa says she worries about identity fraud. >> yes. of course i worry about it. >> reporter: in san jose, damian trujillo, nbc bay area news. >>> the bay area's new catholic a

this morning. clear in los gatos with 48 degrees. we will start out with a few clouds from santa rosa, hayward, sfo this morning. otherwise lots of sunshine, some high clouds and the shower chances now midday tuesday, into wednesday and we are only talking 20, 30% chance, mainly in the higher elevations as the area of low pressure will sink south, stay far away from the bay area and, in fact, right now it continues to spin and from time to time we are looking at some mid-level clouds. but really not until it makes the move south and east. so as for today, that still makes for a really nice afternoon. so we will call it mostly sunny. a few clouds around. but certainly by monday and taking the shower chances out and then by tuesday, looks like we will see some of the clouds and a little bit of moisture sweep up into southern california, also the central coast, the south bay, perhaps the higher east bay hills and then into thursday. after this it continues to sink south and we will just be on the back edge of it and not expecting any weather systems are in the latter part of the work week. but by

are looking at low 50s and the clouds in santa rosa and napa this morning. this afternoon partly cloudy conditions. the system offshore continues to bring the slightly cooler-than-average temperatures our way for the next several days but we continue to back off on the rain chances tomorrow, bringing them in just a slight chance tuesday and wednesday. and then the system sinks south. here it is. you will notice offshore once again ting to spin counter clockwise. and with that we are looking at the fairly uniform temperatures, a few clouds around so a mix out there. and as the low gets a little closer, we are talking midday to late tuesday, into wednesday. overnight higher elevations, just a slight chance of showers. that includes the mountains, the sierra nevada, and temperatures will be coming down a little bit on tuesday with increase of clouds. so the hardly strictly bluegrass with a few clouds around. low 60s. another nice afternoon in golden gate park and closer to the embarcadero and on the water we are looking at mild numbers. low to mid-60s there. repeat performance of yesterday

officially hit 70. and santa rosa you hit 102 three days ago. you hit only 68 degrees this afternoon. and you will drop down to 48 tonight. napa chilly upper 40s. san rafael 50. redwood city 53. and livermore 53 degrees your overnight low. so something has to be changing. believe it or not. the same area of low pressure now giving us the cool weather was the same one that was down off the southern california coast that counterclockwise flow giving us the offshore wedged. so all it did was move we felt got a different wind direction and you're feeling the change with morning cloud cover and lower temperatures. low pressure will be offshore on the weekend enhancing of the pacific ocean influence giving us even cooler weather and cloudier weather. then by the top of next week low pressure is going to be right over top of the bay area. that's going to give us a shower chance for the first widespread shower chance in a while coming up next monday and next tuesday. so what to expect? a lot of cloud cover each morning. you will get some afternoon sunshine. it will be cloudy to start. weekend will be
